Bloomingdale Public Schools is proud to announce that Jason Hayes, the district’s Athletic Director since the 2021-22 school year, has been recognized by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) as a Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) — a prestigious national certification earned by a select group of interscholastic athletic leaders.
This certification recognizes athletic administrators who demonstrate a high level of knowledge, experience, and dedication to professional growth in the field of interscholastic athletics. The voluntary certification process includes a rigorous evaluation of a candidate’s background, leadership, and contributions to the profession, as well as successful completion of a comprehensive written examination.
“Jason is a hard-working and committed leader who is always looking for ways to improve the experience for our student-athletes,” said Superintendent Rick Reo. “He’s deeply invested in the Bloomingdale community and consistently ensures students have meaningful opportunities to participate in athletics and grow from them.”
Brandon Lukes, principal of Bloomingdale Middle and High School, echoed that praise: “As principal, I greatly appreciate Mr. Hayes’ unwavering dedication and tireless efforts as our Athletic Director. His leadership, vision, and commitment to our student-athletes go far beyond the scoreboard. Through his hard work, he is fostering a culture of sportsmanship, perseverance, and excellence that positively impacts not only our athletic programs but also the character and growth of our students.”
According to the NIAAA, certification highlights the professionalism and expertise of athletic administrators across the country. Athletic directors who achieve CAA status are recognized as National Board-Certified Athletic Administrators, underscoring their credibility and leadership in the field. Certification reflects a commitment to continued learning, best practices, and excellence in athletic administration — values that directly benefit students, schools, and communities.
Hayes joins a distinguished group of interscholastic athletic administrators nationwide who have earned this certification — an achievement that further strengthens the Bloomingdale Cardinals athletic program and its future.
