On February 5, Bloomingdale Public Schools teachers, administrators, and other staff came together for an exciting professional development session focused on the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in education. Trainers from Michigan Virtual led the session, offering insight into how AI is shaping instruction, enhancing productivity, and opening new doors for both educators and students.
The training provided hands-on exposure to some of the most widely used AI platforms in education, demonstrating how these tools can streamline lesson planning, personalize learning experiences, and support student engagement. Staff also explored the ethical considerations surrounding AI, emphasizing the importance of responsible use, digital literacy, and critical thinking skills.
"AI is expanding at an incredible pace, and its role in education represents a major step forward in improving instruction and learning," said Superintendent Rick Reo. "Our students will not only need to be familiar with AI tools but also develop a deep understanding of their ethical implications and limitations."
With its commitment to innovation, Bloomingdale Public Schools will continue working with Michigan Virtual to explore AI’s potential and integrate best practices into classrooms. By embracing these advancements, the district is preparing students and educators to navigate an ever-evolving digital world with confidence and creativity.
